VisiNex ™ is the ultimate system for winshield wiper efficiency measurement. Indeed, wiping the windshield is « just » a technical way to recover visibility through the windshield (if lack of visibility is due to water laid on the windeshield). VisiNex^TM measures the usable visibility through the windshield for a « standard » human being (VisiNex™ involves an advanced human vision model that was first developed for military applications). A modern automotive wiper system is a very complex system that involves mechanics, electricity, sensors, and decision making/pattern recognition software. Every item of this technical chain may have several possible parameters settings … It is not possible to test and tune properly such a complex system if you must wait for the rain and go driving … This « old » method is not compatible with quality policies of industry : technical goal of the wiper system is not quantitative (an « expert » quotes the efficiency …), it’s never the same expert, it’s never the same rain, it’s never the same light, … This leads to a considerable loss of time (time to market) and money. With VisiNex ™, it is possible to pilot artificial rain (example : RainNex ™ artificial rain machine, or any other pilotable rain machine of the market) and artificial light, and then to compute visibility scores among time : efficiency of the wiper system is then its ability to recover high visibility scores levels. Efficiency of ONE item of this technical chain is also easy to measure : variation of visibility scores between two measurements is due to modification of parameters settings : if you change only the rubber blade between 2 measurements, you will measure the influence of the rubber blade on the global wiper system’s efficiency, if you change only parameters settings of the rain sensor, you will measure the influence of the rain sensor’s parameters on global wiper system’efficiency, if you change one line of program code, you will measure influence of this program code line, ...
